Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode today led an All Male Walk against Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), vowing that his administration would leave no stone unturned to ensure that all perpetrators of such crimes are made to face the wrath of the law. The walk, which proceeded from Ikeja under Bridge through Awolowo Way to Lagos House in Alausa, witnessed the participation of dignitaries from all walks of life, including members of the State Executive Council, members of the State House of Assembly, key government functionaries, entertainers, youths, artisans, workers, among others.

Hussein Emmanuel had his eyes gouged out by his friend and other accomplice for ritual. The 18-year-old from Sara village in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area was deceived by his best friend identified as one David Arafat who had promised to secure a job for him in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.   According to Daily Trust, David allegedly connived with another accomplice, Jerry  and led Hussein to a river in Sara village where they attacked him and gouged out his eyes. Emmanuel Iliya, the victim's father disclosed said that David asked his son for money in order to assist him to secure employment in Port Harcourt. The devastated father said he borrowed N5,000 from a friend in order to assist his son make the journey.   An uncle of the victim, Haruna Iliya, who spoke to Daily Trust said that the suspect knew the victim through another friend, Amos Munga, who has travelled to Ibadan. Tom Marino,a member of the us congress has written a letter to Secretary of State, John Kerry, asking the US government to withhold security assistance to Nigeria until President Buhari demonstrates a “commitment to inclusive government and the most basic tenets of democracy: freedom to assemble and freedom of speech”. According to Thisday , Marino in his two-page letter, accused President Buhari of autocratic tendencies and selective anti-graft war.  Marino asked the State Department to stop selling warplanes and other military equipment to Nigeria until President Buhari establishes a track record of working towards inclusion of other opposition members. Los Angeles parents demand answers from coroner office after their daughter died and was cremated without their permission Micheal johnston said "my daughter was born healthy but she died a day after she was born then the coroner office took her to determine the cause of the death. However, when i visited the office last week I was told that she had been cremated and her ashes emptied on d ground of the morgue I wasn't told the cause of the death an why she was cremated. I demand answers.  The coroner's office hasn't responded yet,they are planning to sue them if they don't get answers

The management of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has reportedly banned its female staff from wearing miniskirts and jeans trousers to work. According to a statement by the general manager of NPA, female staff members who are found wanting will be sanctioned. “It has been observed that despite the issuance of a couple of circulars vide HQ/GMHR/CON/G.3/128 of 25th August, 2008 and HQ/CR/AD/G.1/3039 of 19th December, 2014 on corporate Dress Code, some employees still indulge in improper dressing to the office.
