 Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is reportedly planning to mark his baby’s birth with a special tattoo tribute. The Shape of You singer is reportedly expecting his first child with his wife Cherry Seaborn. However, earlier this year, Ed revealed that he has a special plan in place for any children he has in future according to report by The Mirror. Known for his extensive tattoo collection, including his trademark tattoo sleeves, Ed is said to be planning on using his body ink to mark the birth of his kids.  It was revealed earlier this week that Ed Sheeran's wife Cherry Seaborn is pregnant with their first child and is set to give birth in a matter of weeks. And it has now been suggested that the mother-to-be has requested an unlimited sabbatical from work to focus on raising their baby as well as other projects. A source told the Sun that Cherry has been given a limitless amount of time off so that their newborn can be the couple's primary focus. They said: 'Cherry spent last year writing a monster paper for the firm on technology and digital risk. SHARIA COURT SENTENCES SINGER TO DEATH FOR BLASPHEMY

  An Upper Shari’a Court sitting in Kano has sentenced  Yahaya Aminu Sharif a 22-year-old singer to death by hanging for blaspheming against Prophet Muhammad.   According to reports, the judge, Khadi Aliyu Muhammad Kani, gave the verdict on August 10 after finding Yahaya Aminu Sharif guilty as charged.   Mr. Sharif who is a member of the Islamic Tijjaniya sect and Faidha group, composed a song blaspheming Prophet Mohammed and circulated it via WhatsApp in March 2020. Residents of the state got angry when they heard the song and started a protest. They burnt down the singer’s family home and led a procession to the Kano Hisbah Command’s headquarters demanding that he must be tried.   After several days in the court, the Judge found him guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging. He has 30 days to appeal the judgment.

  President Donald Trump on Thursday August 6, signed executive orders banning social media apps TikTok and WeChat from operating in the US in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies. The executive orders, one for each app take effect in 45 days. In the executive order, which declares TikTok a "national emergency", Mr Trump claims the app  "automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users," such as location data and browsing and search histories, which "threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans' personal and proprietary information -- potentially allowing China to track the locations of Federal employees and contractors, build dossiers of personal information for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage."   The house where the Cameroonian version of the Big Brother reality TV show is currently holding, almost caught fire last night.   In a video that is making the rounds online, some of the housemates were working in the kitchen when a loud noise accompanied by fire erupted from the gas cooker. The incident saw the housemates scampering for safety. HUSHPUPPI'S LAWYER GIVES REAL DETAILS ABOUT "Hushpuppi's release from prison"

Gal Pissetzky, lawyer to suspected Internet fraudster and Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi, has revealed the fraud suspect has not been released. According to Pissetzky, Hushpuppi was transferred to another prison instead. The lawyer also confirmed he was still representing Hushpuppi. Hushpuppi's lawyer's response comes after reports circulated on Wednesday night that Hushpuppi had been released as his details on the Bureau of Prisons showed he was no longer in the prison  "He is on his way to California, United States of America, for trial. ..." OYO STATE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOL RESUMPTION

The Oyo state government has announced some important guidelines which schools are expected to follow to ensure a smooth resumption in the state.    The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology,  Olasunkanmi Olaleye who made the announcement on Wednesday July 1, said school heads, principals and teachers have undergone training on how to monitor and report any suspected case of Coronavirus.    An Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) has been set up in the State capital and at the zonal levels. Incident Managers have also been appointed for each school in the state, and they are expected to report any emergency directly to the EOCs through special communication lines.   Each class will also have Warder whose obligation is to relate with the Incident Managers on his or her observations. NASS SUSPENDS RECUIRTMENT OF 774,000 NIGERIANS INTO PUBLIC WORK

The National Assembly has suspended the recruitment of 774,000  Nigerians for the Special Public Works programme under the National Directorate of Employment to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.   The announcement was made on Wednesday July 1 after some lawmakers engaged in a shouting match with Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo.    Spokesperson for the Senate, Ajibola Basiru who admitted that the recruitment exercise was suspended after a disagreement with Keyamo, said the the Minister in charge of the Ministry has been ordered before the federal legislature to explain the recruitment modalities.   Basiru said;    “In view of the foregoing, the implementation of the programme shall be on hold pending proper briefing of the National Assembly by the Minister of Labour and Productivity.”   The programme, expected to take off in October this year, was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari. GROOM DIES AFTER INFECTING OVER 100 WEDDING GUESTS IN INDIA

A wedding in India turned out to be a Coronavirus hotspot, killing the groom who had a high fever, and infecting more than 100 guests as his family didn't heed his request to post-pone the wedding ceremony. According to the Hindustan Times, the 30-year-old software engineer developed diarrhea and a high fever before his June 15 wedding, but his family forced him to swallow a painkiller and go through with the ceremony, attended by more than 360 people in Paliganj.        48 hours later, his condition worsened and he died on the way to a hospital, according to the news outlet. CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES IN NIGERIA SKYROCKETS TO 18,480 AFTER 745 PEOPLE TESTS POSITIVE IN 24 HOURS

The confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria has now hit 18,480 after 745 people tested positive on Thursday, June 18, 2020.   According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, 280 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 103 in Oyo, 72 in Ebonyi, 60 in FCT, 46 in Imo, 34 in Edo, 33 in Delta, 25 in Rivers, 23 in Kaduna, 16 in Ondo, 12 in Katsina, 10 in Kano, 8 in Bauchi, 7 in Borno, 5 in Kwara, 4 in Gombe, 2 in Sokoto, 2 in Enugu, 1 in Yobe, 1 in Osun, and 1 in Nasarawa State.  In total, Nigeria has now recorded 18,480 cases of COVID-19. 6,307 patients have been discharged from various Isolation centers across the country, while 475 deaths have been recorded.

A STUDENT OF THE POLYTECHNIC SAKI, RAPED AND KILLED IN IBADAN

According to reports, Grace, a 21-year-old National Diploma student of Oke Ogun Polytechnic, was allegedly raped and then murdered inside the church located in the Ojoo area of Ibadan in Akinyele Local Government Area. She was discovered with machete cuts on her body. RAPIST ARREST HIS VICTIM'S WIFE, UNCLE AND NEIGHBOUR WHO GOT HIM ARRESTED FOR RAPE

A suspected rapist has reportedly got his victim's mother, uncle and neighbour arrested for reporting the incident to authorities and getting him arrested earlier.  The suspect  who was accused of sexually molesting a 3-year old child, was released after spending 11 days in police detention. Human Rights Activist, Gwamnishu Emefiena Harrison said he was released after the victim's mother failed to pay the N65,000 the IPO told her to pay to enable her charge the suspect to court.   It was also alleged that police officers from Oyigbo Area Command, Rivers State took an undisclosed amount to effect the arrest of victim's family.   Gwamnishu posted on his Facebook page;

The acting chairman of the anti-graft agency, EFCC, has reacted to the arrest of Instagram celebrity, Ramon Igbalode popularly known as Hushpuppi.   Hushpuppi was on Wednesday June 10 arrested in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) alongside his colleagues by International Police (INTERPOL) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for alleged fraud.   In an interview with TVC, Magu said the commission is not involved in Hushpuppi's arrest. “We are yet to be involved in the case of Hushpuppi, but if they happen to give us this thing (details) we would assist.” Magu said   The antigraft agency boss in the interview denied the allegation that the agency is mostly interested in the arrest and prosecution of internet fraudsters. SENATE PASSES THE REVISED 2020 BUDGET OF 10.8 TRILLION NAIRA

The Senate has passed the revised 2020 budget of N10.8 trillion. The budget was passed this morning Thursday, June 11 during plenary.   The passage of the budget comes a day after the House of Representatives passed the same figure as the 2020 budget. The lawmakers increased the budget by N300 billion from N10.5 trillion. The budget was initially passed in December but the executive sent it back to National Assembly after the executive reworked it to reflect the current economic realities.   According to the new budget, N500 billion was allocated as an intervention fund for COVID-19 while N186 billion was earmarked for the health sector.    In the revised budget, N422 billion was fixed for statutory transfers, N4.9 trillion for recurrent expenditure and N2.4 trillion is for capital expenditure.    The budget will now be sent to the President for his assent.
