Queen zinna out stood nine other contestants during the contest which involved three critical stages and lasted for about three weeks.  Queen Efoy 2016 an undergraduate in the department of science laboratory technology,Wesley  university Ondo state said in her speech "I am pleased,honored and humbled to accept this position as the Exquisite face of the year 2016. Special thanks to Pwoafriq for giving me the opportunity to participate in this contest. Indeed it was a very remarkable experience, an experience I would forever treasure,an enormous salute to all of this year's nominee each of whom have made incredible contributions to the contest. WRONG AGENT CAUSES BAYERN TO MISS OUT SIGNING DEMBELE

Bayern Munich reportedly tried to sign Ousmane Dembele over the summer but they missed out to Borussia Dortmund in part because they negotiated with the wrong agent. Dembele, 19, moved to Dortmund during the transfer window for a fee of €15 million after he scored 12 goals and registered five assists during his breakout season in Ligue 1 with Rennes. He could, however, have been playing for Bayern, but according to reports the champions' technical director Michael Reschke negotiated with the player's former agent Badou Sambague rather than his current representative Marco Kirdemir.

ARMY SUPPORTS NEGOTIATION WITH MILITANTS

The Nigerian military has expressed support to the ongoing negotiation with militants to restore peace in restive Niger Delta region. Defence Headquarters on Wednesday re-emphasised that the military would continue to abide with the ongoing negotiation effort of the Federal Government with militants. Brig.-Gen. Rabe Abubakar, Acting Director, Defence Information, however warned that while trying to achieve peace through negotiation, the military would not take kindly with any individual or group who would want to abuse the process. He warned that the military would not hesitate to respond proportionately to any armed attacks against its location in a decision. Such response he explained would be professional and in line with military’s constitutional mandate of defending innocent citizens as well as national critical infrastructure.

FRESH TROUBLE FOR PATIENCE JONATHAN

Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan is in fresh trouble following the discovery of an aggregate balance of $40million in bank accounts linked to the former first lady. According to Sahara reporters, the discovery was made after officials of Skye Bank Plc informed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) about the bank accounts. The newly discovered accounts were said to have been opened by Mrs. Jonathan, using fake names, and abetted by crooked bank officials. Sources at the banks said the limp explanations by Patience Jonathan on how she came about such a huge sum in the multiple domiciliary accounts earlier frozen by the EFCC prompted the Skye Bank officials to draw attention of the EFCC to the latest discoveries.

NIGERIA'S OIL RESERVES RUNNING OUT

  The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, yesterday, painted a gloomy outlook for Nigeria’s economic fortunes, as it disclosed that the country’s crude oil and gas reserves were fast depleting. The NNPC in a statement in Abuja, therefore, begged oil and gas exploration companies, professionals and other stakeholders to focus on increasing the nation’s oil and gas reserve base to match national aspirations to increase oil production. Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Maikanti Baru, who disclosed this when the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, NAPE, hosted him in Abuja, also expressed readiness of the NNPC to partner with stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to grow the nation’s fast depleting reserves in order to increase productivity in the petroleum sector.

ECOWAS COURT ORDERS FGN TO RELEASE DASUKI

The Court of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, on Tuesday declared the arrest and detention of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, as unlawful and arbitrary. He approached the ECOWAS court after he was rearrested by members of Nigeria's State Security Service shortly after meeting his bail conditions in November last year. According to the said section, a superior police officer may authorise the search of a resident belonging to a suspect assumed to be in illegal possession of an item, if the officer so authorised has a search warrant.
